“Concerto di Mare Nostrum” for two guitars and orchestra was written in 2015 and it has been conceived as a homage to the musical world, as I feel it and hear it, of the Mediterranean – hence the title where “Mare Nostrum” is an ancient Roman name for the Mediterranean Sea. The respective movements are dedicated to three composers of the three Mediterranean countries whose music I particularly like and respect: Mario Castelnuovo Tedesco – Italy, Manos Hadzidakis – Greece and Joaquin Rodrigo – Spain. Moreover, it is a dedication to a festive and yet, contemplative character of the instrumental concerto, which is my perpetual interest and ardor  – I’ve written three more concertos: for guitar, guitar and group of instruments and piano. My “Mediterranean” musical language is both freely modal and tonal and it’s coupled with my rendition of a classical instrumental (double) concerto design.
Concerto was premiered in 2015 by the dedicatees, Aleksandra & Vojislav Ivanovic – “Levante Guitar Duo” with orchestra Camerata Serbica and conductor Bojan Suđić.
